In the early 1900's, the lifeboat station at Port Orford Heads was fully operational. This diorama helps to show how lifestation personnel descended hundreds of steps to the lifeboat launch, where a lifeboat on rails would be launched to enter the ocean and save lives. Additionally, modern trails are visible on the model, which helps to guide and orientate visitors. State Park volunteers use the diorama to explain to visitors about the structures and natural features integrated with the area. Produced in 2013 by Roger Rasmussen, with cabinetry provided by Tilley Cabinetry.
