We've been making fancy stumps for so long, we kinda keep forgetting how nice it would be just to have a bag of basic 'ol stumps! Therefore, I got busy and cut some on the bandsaw. Currently they are cut from sagebrush, but we will also be using Douglas fir roots. So the product will have 25-40 stumps per bag of various sizes and material types. Out in the field, we see both freshly cut and older, aged-cut stumps. If you want a bright, fresh cut look, mix up a bit of Rit Sunshine Orange and Golden Yellow, 50/50, with tap water. This should be dilute, not too strong, perhaps 1/4 teaspoon each dye to 3 tablespoons water. You could heat it in the microwave. Once dissolved, it need not be reheated. We keep a jar of it around so we can quickly dip stump tops and log ends into it. But I digress. Simpler stumps are on the way! Check back soon please.
