Supplies for TreeMaking Since 2011
Picture

From time to time I have dioramas that I have made and are for sale and also just for show. This is where you'll find them.

Typically my dioramas are made with a combination of commercially available scenery materials as well as many that I find out in the field. Amongst my favorite naturally occurring materials, I like sagebrush, and also the roots from stumps I find washed up on the beach. For a fall scene, nothing satisfies like true dried fall leaves. I'll run them through a coffee grinder and sift out the powder from the scale "leaves". Hey, I'm rambling. Here we go:

Horse and Rider Mini Dio:

Picture
I find the Preiser figures of the highest quality, and from those in each package I have chosen the best for this Horse and Rider scene.  Just imagine flying along on a fast trot, headed to your favorite wooded paradise! This mini diorama measuring 10" x 6" can do just that.  The tree and stump are from real Port Orford cedar. The base is of Douglas fir and has a natural finish.  This would make a perfect gift. Here's a few more photos (click to enlarge).

Moose Mini Dio:

I find when I'm out hiking I'd actually prefer to avoid scenes like this. Moose are not always friendly. However, from an appropriate distance, they are one of the most beautiful creatures on earth. Well, sort of! Anyhow, this diorama is going to get under the skin of any hiker or outdoor enthusiast.  Check out these other pictures:

Gift Dio for Woodland Scenics

Picture
I did this mini diorama as a gift for someone at Woodland Scenics.  They readily supply all of the scenic turf foliage used in Coastmans Green Foliage Material. That there is a Myrtlewood base. Thanks a ton, Woodland!

Custom Diorama per Customer Specs:

Picture
This was a super-fun to make diorama with a simple foam base and some trees that I thought came out really great. It's about a 12 x 14 inch footprint with the tallest tree at about 16 inches.  It's just waiting for some animals to come and hang out in the protective canopy of this small forest! Look closely and you'll see someone hiding. (click to enlarge photos).
